About me

I am a China Policy Analyst with the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) where I analyse China’s decarbonisation journey. I advise policymakers on their diplomatic engagement with China and publish thought leading research and articles on Chinese climate policy and Chinese foreign relations. I have been widely quoted in international media outlets and I am regularly invited to speak at public events and expert discussions. I am also a director with Young China Watchers London, where I host regular discussions with top China experts.

Previously, I helped to re-establish the China practice at the globally renowned climate change think tank E3G, where I facilitated engagement between Chinese and European experts and policymakers through policy advice and thought leadership. Prior to joining E3G, I gained first-hand insights into the inner workings of the European Commission, supporting the EU’s international relations on transport as a Blue Book Trainee. Working at China Dialogue and the Centre for Multilateral Negotiations, I developed comprehensive knowledge about climate diplomacy and China’s approach to climate change. My expertise is complimented by my private sector experience working to facilitate business cooperation between Europe and China at a boutique consultancy, the China International Investment Promotion Agency of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, and the German Trade Office in Taipei. I have also translated an academic book on China’s economic history from Chinese to German.

I hold a double master’s degree in International Affairs from the London School of Economics and Peking University and a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Studies and Business Administration from Tübingen University. I also participated in the European China Talent Programme by the Mercator Institute for China Studies for select young professionals with a track record on China.
